"Garage punk - the mother of all kinds of music" (Sad Hussein †) You have a band, looking for a label to put out your record? Well, before you waste your time or demo on us, please make sure you know and understand what Fanboy Records is doing. This sounds strange, but hey, we received demos from metal, techno and schlager schmocks who thought we´d make them "famous"! To spare us this kind of annoyance, just read the following paragraphs: The main focus of Fanboy Records is on vinyl records in the formats 7", 10" and 12". We consider CDs as an addition to an LP release, which sometimes makes sense but mostely not. To gain a quick overview what we put out, just take a look at the records section. The distribution is running via our german distributor Broken Silence, german and european mailorders and finally our own tiny mailorder. The Fanboy mailorder is just bare bones and just for our own products - we´d like to keep it that way. We prefer bands that are "around" – bands which play in middle Europe now and then (or better steady and often). The exeption is as always: Very good stuff. For us, good stuff is wild and cool music that kicks balls. We are not interested in mainstream, mediocre or lame shit. Let the #%$*-majors do that crap! To be more exact, that´s what we´re into: - most kinds of garage and trash music - punk rock, if it sounds wild and gnarly and has no metal influences - kick ass rock ´n´ roll - really sleazy and dirty soul music - surf, if it´s energetic and not covering the old classics the zillionth time - weird and fuzzy electronic trash - hardcore punk, but just the californian pre-1983 style That´s what we´re not into: - straight edge, emo and New York hardcore - oi and streetpunk - pop punk rock that´s too melodic or boring - grunge, crossover and all the other stuff for kids with baggypants - lame 70s rock from people who should see their hairdresser That´s what we hate: - any stuff featuring metal guitars - fascist crap - Pet Shop Boys Well, I hope you got the picture now. There is to add that we like special, outstanding music with a certain original quality. Being a 3rd class copy of top american bands is really not enough. Use your brain, have some ideas, write some good songs and play them in a wild and powerful manner!
